About Nancy

Hi there,

My name is Nancy Lieff and I am an independent counsellor and intuitive healer based in Conception Bay North, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada.

My approach to all healing is holistic. This means I work on psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual levels of consciousness to provide healing for a diverse range of issues, such as mental health, addiction, trauma and spirituality.

My formal education and training includes undergraduate and graduate studies in arts, criminology, addiction and mental health from Memorial University of Newfoundland & Labrador as well as the University of Lethbridge, Alberta. In addition, I have training in intuitive healing work like various forms of core shamanism and herbalism with the likes of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies (F.S.S.), One Willow Apothecary and The Herbal Academy: The International School of Herbal Arts & Sciences. I love to integrate both formal and conventional, progressive and creative forms of counselling, psychotherapy and intuitive healing modalities into my work which, is individually tailored to each client for comprehensive, deeply resonant healing: mind, body heart and spirit.

With over 10 years of training and experience in the field of human services, I have enjoyed working with individual adults and groups experiencing domestic violence through local women's shelters and male mandated offender programs, addiction harm reduction programs/initiatives as well as instructing college and university programs in addiction and mental health. I am also a published authour with Paradoxica: The Journal of Non-dual Psychology.

I am registered as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (C.C.C.) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (C.C.P.A.), a Registered Professional Counsellor (R.P.C.) with the Canadian Professional Counselling Association (C.P.C.A.) and hold an M.Ed Counselling Psychology (Mental Health & Addiction) degree with the University of Lethbridge, Alberta. My focus during graduate studies was on healing spiritual trauma from an holistic, psychotherapeutic approach.

Besides being passionate about mental health, addiction and holistic wellness, I enjoy playing and listening to music (I play the piano and am currently learning how to play the button accordion!), reading fiction, watching and playing sports, baking, cooking and practicing yoga. I also love animals, shooting nature photography, wildcrafting, hiking and doing what I can to love the environment.

Thank-you for visiting my website and please do not hesitate to connect with me if you have any questions about my work or would like to inquire about beginning a healing journey with Blackbird Holistic!

With appreciation,
